Q: What happened to Jasper Cabinet?

A: In 2002, Jasper Cabinet went into bankruptcy due to mismanagement and employee issues. A group of former employees got together to acquire the name, logo, web site and product rights from the bankruptcy court. These have been released to the new owners and they re-opened the company, June 1, 2005.

Q:  How can I find my nearest Jasper Cabinet Company® furniture store?

A:  Many of the product/retailer inquiries we receive are from former customers wishing to add to Jasper Cabinet Company® furniture styles they currently own.  Currently our older collections and styles are no longer available. If you are interested in any of the furniture shown on our website, please contact customer service and we will get back to you with the furniture store nearest you that can help you.

Q: Can I purchase JASPER CABINET COMPANY® furniture products directly from the company?

A: We do not sell JASPER CABINET COMPANY® furniture on a DIRECT basis.  We only sell through furniture dealers.  However, we can deliver directly to a customer's home, but  our products are sold only through authorized JASPER CABINET COMPANY® retailers.

Q:  What is JASPER CABINET COMPANY® is a Work of Art Program?

A: Jasper Cabinet Company® is a domestic custom furniture manufacturer.  We have artists on staff that can interpret famous artwork and then paint them on our cabinets.   Every cabinet is individually painted and not run through an assembly line as you see on imported products.  This exciting program provides high quality JASPER CABINET COMPANY® products designed and painted exclusively by our hand painters and individually hand signed with a certificate of authenticity.  Original JASPER CABINET COMPANY® hand-painted items are growing in value and popularity.

Q:  Do you have a JASPER CABINET COMPANY® showroom that I can visit or a JASPER CABINET COMPANY® catalog or brochure you can send to me?

A: JASPER CABINET COMPANY® does not have a consumer’s catalog at this time.  Currently, the only place to see our products is through our web site.  We will be continually adding and updating products on our web site, so please keep checking for anything new.

Q:  I am looking for additional pieces to match my JASPER CABINET COMPANY® Secretaries and curios.  Where can I find them?

A:  Most of these items were discontinued in 2002 when the company went out of business.   The only source currently to find older products is through antique stores or auction companies that specialize in this product. We do plan to introduce the top styles at a later date. Please visit our web site to watch for new and exciting products.

Q:  I would like to know the value of my JASPER CABINET COMPANY® furniture. Can you help me with a value?

A: We are sorry we cannot provide values for JASPER CABINET COMPANY® furniture products for several reasons.  We do not know the condition of your furniture or value in your particular region for this type of product. As a wholesale manufacturer we do not participate in establishing the retail value of our products. We are not a certified appraiser and our valuations would have no legal standing. We suggest that you contact a reputable antique dealer who will provide a valuation for a fee. You can also contact your insurance agent for the names of persons in your area that can provide appraised values for possessions.  We do know that Jasper Cabinet has been sold through reputable auction houses.  Many of the hand-painted items are becoming collector’s items.

Q: I would like to know how old my JASPER CABINET COMPANY® furniture is?  What can you tell me?

A:  If you look at the information found on the product label attached to your JASPER CABINET COMPANY® product you should be able to find the date of manufacture.  There are three numbers on the product tag: the Item number, the serial number and the date code. The date code consists of "IS" plus six digits. The third and fourth digits tell the year of manufacture. If you request further assistance please make your request via e-mail only and not by telephone so we have a record to follow up on service into the future.

Q:   My JASPER CABINET COMPANY® cabinet keys are missing can I get replacement keys?

A:  Currently we can only provide keys for cabinets made from 1980 to 2002. Unfortunately, the company that made the keys before 1980 went out of business.  You may have to work with a locksmith or a reputable furniture repair company to change the locks you currently have on your cabinets.

Q:  Does JASPER CABINET COMPANY® do custom sizes?

A:  We do not change the size or design of the cabinets we offer. We do offer different species of wood and hardware for our cabinets.  We do custom finishes at an up charge.  For example, send us a fabric or carpet sample that you want us to match for hand-striping and we will match it as closely as possible. With your sample, include a check for $75.00 which is a non-refundable setup fee for us to produce and send back a sample of the color for your approval. Once we receive the signed approval of the finish, we will hand stripe or finish your cabinet in the selected finish.  We can also do custom hand-painting or laser graphic designs on your cabinets for an up-charge.  These options are the reason that Jasper Cabinet Company® furniture is so unique, as every piece is finished the way you want it finished.  Jasper Cabinet makes furniture that fits each individual personality.

Q:  My JASPER CABINET COMPANY® office chair bases need a new mechanism. Can I get them from the company?

A Replacement office chair mechanisms may still be available from the company that produced them.  We will need the model number and year the chair was bought.  Contact us through our web site with this information and we will try to refer you to the company that made the chair base.  Remember we may not be able to match certain chairs because of the age of the chair as the mechanism may have been discontinued.  In many cases a furniture repair company can replace your mechanism with a current model from another company.

Q:  The cushions on my JASPER CABINET COMPANY® rocker or chair need to be replaced. Can I order replacements directly from you?

AThe new Jasper Cabinet Company® does not currently do upholstery. Our suggestion for our customers who need replacement cushions is to take their seat and back cushions to an upholstery shop that they know and trust. The upholstery shop will use your old cushions to make a pattern to produce new cushions. The filler material in the cushions often needs to be replaced at the same time and they should accomplish all of this for a reasonable fee.

Q:  I have a handle on my JASPER CABINET COMPANY® furniture that has broken.  Can I get a replacement?

A: The Jasper Cabinet Company® hardware that you have may no longer be available.  Once we have reviewed all our suppliers, some of the hardware may become available or we may have a substitute that you can purchase a complete set of hardware.  You may be able to get a close match through other companies like Restoration Hardware or Keeler Brass.  Keeler Brass Company produced a lot of the hardware we used on our past and present products. We suggest that you contact Keeler Brass Company consumer services to see if they have your hardware or one that is compatible available through their “consumer replacement hardware” program. You can contact them through their web site: www.keelerbrass.com or,

Q:  I want to refinish my JASPER CABINET COMPANY® furniture. Can I purchase the stain and finishing materials from you directly?

A:  All of our finishes are custom formulated and cannot be sold to consumers due to Federal restrictions on resale of finishing materials.  Jasper Cabinet Company® cabinets usually will increase in value in the original finish.  Since Jasper Cabinet Company® is a 100- year- old company many of the products may be antiques and have increased in value.  Changing the finish could devalue your cabinet for re-sale.  If you decide to touch up or re-finish, a professional refinisher should be able to match your current finish by blending different colors to recreate the original finish. This is a challenging process that we do not recommend to non-professionals.  If you would like to attempt to match the finish yourself a retail material coating source like a Sherwin-Williams Paint Store could possibly help you.  Since many of our finishes were paint based finishes, a thorough understanding of color combination and creation is necessary to be successful.  JASPER CABINET COMPANY® assumes no responsibility for results achieved using this information and your efforts are entirely at your own risk.

We certainly hope that we were able to answer most of your questions.  We look forward to doing business with you in the future.  Watch for exciting new products going on our web site soon!
